Portland Photo Booth Birthday Event Photography & Entertainment

Personalities have the best personalities!

It was a perfect night for a 50th birthday party in the hills above West Linn. Nelson, from FM 105.1′s Nelson & Terry morning show was the birthday boy, celebrating his 50th in grand style at his home with close friends and Paparazzi Tonight. TV anchors Joe Donlon, Russ Lewis, and radio personality Marconi from 101FM were some of the fun faces us paparazzi recognized in the crowd..

What we really loved about this crowd was the creativity of all the men. You could really tell a large majority are on-air personalities and used to being theatrical.

First, before I get to the awesome shots, here’s a great recommendation we received following the party.

Hi Guys!

Randy and I wanted you to know how much we appreciated your participation in his 50th birthday celebration. We both felt that you added a TON of fun to the evening, not just with the photos but also with your own personal interactions with our friends and family. The photos themselves were a HUGE hit! Everyone enjoyed posing and it was hilarious to watch the inhibitions fall away as the evening progressed. You got some GREAT shots! I know our guests really enjoyed going home with a little remembrance of the evening too. The photo album you made is a wonderful keepsake for us as well. I was able to download some single shots the next day and add them to the book to make it even more personal. We have already recommended you to many of our friends and business associates and hope to have you to another event soon!

Thank you again

Randy and Michelle Middleton

Now here are some great pics from the night:

Custom Design Sends Client Experience through the Roof!

A recent complement we received gave us the idea to blog a little on our design process for the photo prints we create for each event. Here’s the note responsible for this blog entry:

Hi Robin & Erik, Thank you for bringing such fun photo-shooting and photo-sharing experience to us. We have never experienced anything like this. Thank you for sending the Greater China team photos with Cindy in such a clever way. Warmest Regards, Greater China Marketing Director, Nike Golf.

Only one Portland photo booth or event photography company completely custom designs the entire surface of their prints. Guess who? Okay, it’s us.  A print overlay is the part of the print that surrounds the photos sometimes overlaying into the photos. Since most on-site photo booth printers offer minimal customization, we significantly raise the bar by offering complete graphic design and planning. We coordinate with event planners to create unique photo take-aways that enhance memories of the event experience.

It’s a five step process. Erik first accumulates information from the client whether it be a bride and groom or a corporate event. He then researches relevant areas of interests gained from the first step, i.e., an event is for a 100 year anniversary party for a company.  In the third step he seeks out styles, looks, approaches or attitudes, that complement the event. Sometimes clients have existing graphics or logos that can be a starting point. Then he conceptualizes the design and creates Photo Shop graphics incorporating everything he’s learned. In the final step, he sends the client options for their layout. All clients choose, change, and give final approval on each and every photo event we are at.  It’s a fairly involved process and one that sets us apart.

Here are some recent or upcoming events to illustrate the points above:

Summit Entertainment, LLC hired us to be the red carpet photo booth company at the official Twilight Night on June 26. Erik took original artwork and reworked it from a 8′ high by 12′ wide printed backdrop to the overlay you see below. Since we had multiple set-ups under tents it was important to get the backdrop our shooting size. We used part of the graphics, placed the brand logos, and created the feeling and coloring matching the Eclipse movie style. Summit Entertainment had to sign off on the final layout and they loved it.

Here’s one of our favorites. We came up with the entire concept for COMCAST to complement a MADMEN party theme. We had to show all four photos in our “photoboothesque” sequence while retaining the Madmen show feel. Erik thought of the idea of an advertising man reviewing proofs and choosing his favorite. He found the MADMEN man on the couch and re-sized it to fit. He then researched the look of different 1960′s proof sheets and created the film strip border. The one photo circled with an arrow was a nice finishing graphics touch to the concept. Our custom props and vintage gray scale photo conversion made these guest take-aways truly one-of-a-kind. After hours of design, COMCAST approved the layout without changes. I mention the “without changes” part because it highlights our effort to continually make it easy for customers to work with us. By spending the time to conceptualize, research and design a truly fitting photo take-away, we really up the cool factor for everyone.

The two photos below are for a high school reunion. Erik met with the coordinators, discovered that it’s their 30th, their colors, that they were the Beavers. So he coordinated several designs. He had to find the Beaver logo online, clean it up so it would print clearly, find the collegiate looking font, and arrange the placement of all the pieces and colors. He gave them two backdrop choices, orange and white. They will review these two options and get back to us with their ideas.

Here’s a very large event for the Soutwest Washington Medical Center Foundation. We incorporated the provided logo with coordinating backdrop and border colors. We also overlayed the cute star graphics onto the third and fourth photos. We are still in the approval process of this layout.

Serena and Logan are getting married this Saturday. Their wedding colors are yellow, orange and green. We were able to overlay their logo into the four photos so all their printed material is coordinated. We have chosen two backdrops as options and they are shown in the next two pictures. Which do you like?

Here is the print for Amy & Ryley, also getting married this Saturday. We coordinated with the bold coloring in their “Save the Date” mailer. The backdrop will be bright pink and will really give the reception room a good color punch.

Taylor & Brittany are getting married today. Yeah! We went through many revisions in concept before finalizing the layout you see here. Taylor is a fire fighter and a fire fighter theme will be incorporated into their reception. Erik reworked the fire logo to meet copyright standards and incorporated their names into the logo. He found a font consistent with the fonts commonly seen on fire trucks. We’ll shoot in black and white for a more vintage photo booth feel. After dinner we’ll bring out vintage fire props and have a little crazy fun.

For McKenzie and Kevin, getting married on Sunday, we coordinated with their colors of chartreuse and purple, we added their logo swans because Kevin’s last name is Swan, and we matched an unknown font from their invitation sample. They ended up liking the purple on purple:)

Our last example is for a couple getting married next and we are still working with them to find that perfect color theme. Their wedding colors are chocolate, orange, with a touch of green-blue.
